Winter Storm Warning in effect Tomorrow

December 23, 2014 Posted by PlowBoss

Tomorrow morning a winter weather warning goes into effect. We are prepared for heavy wet snow possibly in the 3 to 7 inch range. There is also a possibility for even more snow depending on how the system forms. We are preparing for a white Christmas we’re going to try to begin service as soon as conditions are safe. Have a safe and happy holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone.

Winter Weather Advisory 6PM CST Tuesday until NOON CST Wednesday

February 4, 2014 Posted by PlowBoss

We are facing another round of heavy wet accumulating snowfall beginning this afternoon and continuing through tomorrow.  Areas that are next to the lake could see heavier amounts. Heavy snow and blowing snow could dangerously impede safe travel especially in open areas. When we get heavy drifting snow falling throughout the night and into the morning it is impossible for us to service all of our clients before they leave for work. If you have to drive please allow extra time and back into your driveway/garage so you can get a confident running start if necessary. We will do the best we can to get to all of our clients as fast as safely possible. Be safe and stay warm.

A white Christmas?

December 24, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

We want to wish everyone a happy holiday and an assurance that if it snows 2″ on Christmas you can count on us to be out there servicing our accounts. We are happy to dedicate our holidays to ensure the safety of you and yours. Be safe and remember you can count on us.

November Snow 11/11/2013

November 11, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

The small dusting that fell during the day today was melted quickly by the warm pavement. We are doing spot checks of commercial properties and have not noticed any ice accumulation. We are not going to be doing any salting on our commercial properties as they are ice free as of 820 PM.

Bridges however are very treacherous and numerous accidents were witnessed. The ice on the Deerfield Road Bridge over Highway 41 was a solid sheet of ice that looked like it was just wet from rain. Please remember to reduce your speed and drive for the conditions.

Here at Deerfield Snow Removal we would like to thank all of our wonderful clients who entrusted us with managing their snow and ice control this winter. Winter finally arrived in February, and kept us very busy for a couple of weeks. We hope that we impressed you with our service and hope that we will have your business next winter. Have a happy and safe summer, and we’ll see you when the days start to get shorter and the leaves start to fall.

Winter Storm Warning 3/5/2013

March 5, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

As of 1045AM CST we are monitoring the snowfall rate, and preparing to begin maintaining commercial properties. As of right now there is not enough accumulation to begin plowing, but we are anticipating opening up commercial properties by 1200 pm. This situation will change if the snowfall rate per hour increases and begins to exceed 1″ per hour. We anticipate starting our residential route around 1400 (2PM) at the latest. This of course will change if the snowfall rate increases. Please stay tuned to this website for the latest information on our management strategies.

Winter Storm Watch 2/25/2013

February 25, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

Currently our area is under a winter storm watch. We are forecast to receive 2-6 inches of wet heavy snow. The majority of the snow is forecast to fall betwen three and eight in the evening. During heavy storm events like this we will manage our commercial properties to maintain access and safety  for those that need it. Our strategy revolves around making sure cars can safely enter the property, access the building, walk to their parked car and exit the property without worry or fear of getting stuck. If the snow fall as predicted we will try to wait until rush hour is over before going out and plowing all of our residential clients. Unless we have more than four inches on the ground before 6PM, we will try to wait for the snow to end in the evening before starting to service residential clients. If you have special needs or an event please contact us so that we can ensure the highest level of support and custom service. Thank you and be safe out there, this storm appears to be capable of spending a little more time over us then most would prefer. This of course does not include us here at Deerfield Snow Removal, because we love our winter here in Chicago. Be safe and stay home if conditions are treacherous.

Snowfall exceeding 1″ per hour 2/7/2013

February 7, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

We are currently hunkered down and awaiting the cessation of rush hour. Visibility is currently reduced and the roads are treacherous at best. Please stay at home if you are safe, and only go out for emergencies. Travel times are excessive and traffic is at a standstill in Deerfield and Highland Park. We are planning on a full Commercial and Residential Run this evening following the end of the snow. Please call immediately if your driveway has been rendered impassable, your vehicle is stuck, or other dangerous conditions exist that need immediate attention. Be safe and drive appropriately for the conditions.

Ice Storm 1/27/2013

January 27, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

The Winter Storm Warning we are currently under is not to be taken lightly. The rain that fell this afternoon flash froze into an impressive and dangerous sheet of ice. We have salted all our commercial accounts, and several driveways that were impassable. Although forecast to warm up tonight, we are unsure of the exact time. This means treacherous conditions could persist well into the evening. We are available to salt residential and commercial properties 24/7, and can be reached via text, email, or phone. Watch your step, and stay home if you can avoid going out. Have a safe night.

Residential Service Update 1/25/2013

January 25, 2013 Posted by PlowBoss

With the exception of hilly or zero tolerance accounts we have decided that  there is not enough snow to require plowing our residential accounts. Please call or email us if you would still like service. We are always available and happy to take care of any hazards or special needs.
