Winter Snow Storm Warning for Deerfield, Highland Park and North Shore.

January 30, 2014 Posted by PlowBoss

Deerfield and Highland Park are forecast to receive significant accumulation Friday evening with the heaviest amounts predicted to fall Saturday morning and into the afternoon. Snowfall rates are expected to be. 1″-2″  per hour at times. When the snow falls this fast we can only do our best to try and keep up. We will plow with the snow storm as long as safely possible.  However when visibility becomes a matter of inches we seek shelter and wait until conditions become safe again. Once that happens we work tirelessly until every name on the list has seen service.  If it keeps snowing and we have to start the list again we keep working.  We will repeat the process as long as conditions require it. Please be safe and if possible stay home during conditions this severe. Our villages are low on salt and the roads have grown progressively icier as the winter continues to deliver. If you have to go out back your car into your garage or driveway in advance, and have provisions to sustain yourself in the event that you get stuck. Even though this is the North Shore and we have well staffed emergency services, we can tell you from experience that even a familiar local road can become harrowing and lonely with zero visibility and ten inches of snow on the road. Stay warm and be safe, we are ready and waiting for this storm.
